| | | |  | Headline SEFS 3 meeting in Edinburgh - Launch of FreshwaterLife website
| System Expiry Date January 2010 | Text Symposium for European Freshwater Science 3 13-18 August 2003, Edinburgh. The third SEFS meeting in Edinburgh finished last Friday (18.07.2003) with excursions, after a beautiful sunny week. The conference was opened by Sir Martin Holdgate, the President of the Freshwater Biological Association, on Sunday 13th of July with a reception and whisky tasting evening. The oral presentations given during the four days of sessions were of consistent high quality and the Professor Hildrew the Chairman of the FBA Council presented prizes for the three best student presentations, Thibault Datry, Sophie Rabouille and Sandrine Pain. Out of more than a hundred posters student prizes went to Anne Liljendahl-Nurminen, Sally Hladyz and Jeanette Schlief. The new FreshwaterLife website was officially launched in the meeting and during the conference week FreshwaterLife demonstrated extensively the new web interface and Information Management System (IMS). Phil Heneghan from Syngenta presented the FreshwaterLife oral paper and announced the launch of the new website. The progress of the website development was well received; the demonstrations of the Information Management System were especially popular. FreshwaterLife would like to thank all the Network members for their help and advice, and to welcome the new members from SEFS3 to the FreshwaterLife interest club. We would also like to thank the SEFS3 organisers and FBA for an excellent conference and continued collaboration.
